About the event

Located in DUMBO’s Brooklyn Bridge Park beneath the majestic span of the Brooklyn Bridge— Photoville creates an immersive photography village populated by 55+ shipping containers repurposed into galleries.

I am honored and grateful to represent ASMPNY and super excited to have my work featured in the show! this piece “Ayotzinapa43” features the mask of an undocumented activist, she wears this during her protests to protect her identity while she fights for her rights both here and in Mexico.

Uncontainable! • ASMPNY at Photoville

ASMPNY is showcasing work by a diverse selection of its member photographers at Photoville. The striking photos on display are drawn from ASMP's 2017 Photo Annual, curated by Julie Graham, editor, writer and publisher of aCurator. The Young Photographers Alliance Mentoring Program teamed some wonderful new talent with accomplished professionals to interpret the 'American Landscapes' in 2016. Zhanna Kurmanova, Best of Show mentored under Barry Rosenthal. Lelanie Foster, second place, mentored under Michael Weschler. Eaion Chessny, third place, mentored uder David Zentz. Terry Phan, Honorable Mention, mentored under Barry Rosenthal.

In addition, ASMP is providing free on-site portfolio reviews to the public, which provide photographers with feedback from an array of experienced industry professionals, including editors, curators and consultants. Free prizes will also be given to anyone who joins ASMP at Photoville.

Photoville, on the Brooklyn Waterfront, is built from repurposed shipping containers and combines photo exhibitions, outdoor photo installations, talks, workshops, and nighttime multimedia events in its beer garden at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Attendance at Photoville is free. The photoville experience is unmatchable.
